PUBLIC PROGRAMS

For adults, Mexic-Arte Museum offers a wide range of public programs, including book readings, lectures, film screenings and panel discussions.  These programs are usually free and allow those in attendance to gain further knowledge and insight into a variety of topics such as art, history, and social issues.  Speakers have included university academics, museum professionals, authors, journalists, artists, and community leaders.  The Museum also programs off-site tours at partner organizations to complement the current exhibitions.

INTERNSHIPS

College students can participate as an intern at Mexic-Arte Museum as volunteers or for college credit through their university.  Mexic-Arte Museum internships are designed to help you discover interests and opportunities in a unique, first-voice Mexican and Mexican American fine arts institution with a 26-year history in Austin, Texas.

Internships are available for students who want to enhance their college education with hands-on working experience at a museum.  A commitment of 10-15 hours per week for a 3-month minimum is required.  Just provide a short resume, your interest, and enthusiasm!

Mexic-Arte Museum internships are available not only in the Education Department, but also in Exhibitions, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Development, and Production.  To find out more about internships, contact educationoutreach@mexic-artemuseum.org or (512) 480-9373 x83.

VOLUNTEER
